Position: Accounts Payable Specialist
Company: New Horizon Development Group Inc.
Location: Burlington, ON
Contract: Full-Time
Office Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is a must. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial transactions. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Use QuickBooks Desktop to record daily bookkeeping entries
  • Process accounts payable invoices and expense reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Verify and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Point of contact for suppliers and trades in order to follow up on invoices, purchase orders and payment inquiries
  • Prepare and process weekly cheque runs and electronic payments.
  • Reconcile and record monthly credit card statements
  • Assist team members in the office when required
  • Miscellaneous tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Especially Excel)
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure
  • College diploma or university degree in accounting
