Learning about Pre-Construction for the First Time?

  • Meet with your Bank or Mortgage Broker to determine your estimated property budget.
  • Register online to receive more information about the New Horizon developments that align with your wants and needs.
  • If sales have begun, get in touch with the New Horizon sales team to arrange for a private appointment.
  • If sales have not yet begun, stay tuned to your email for all updates leading to the sales launch!
  • Sign your contract with a New Horizon sales representative. In-person and remote signing appointments are typically both available.
    • When purchasing a condominium property, you will have a 10-day conditional contract review period.
    • When purchasing a freehold property, the Agreement becomes firm upon acceptance.
  • Have your lawyer review the Agreement.
  • Obtain mortgage approval.
  • You are now a homebuyer!
  • Depending on the status of construction, weeks or months may pass from the time you sign your purchase agreement to the time you make it to The Décor Phase. We suggest you use this time to:
    • Research interior finishes or colour palettes that you might want to have in your new home.
    • Visit New Horizon’s award-winning Décor Centre during Open House hours (when applicable) to review the décor selections available at your new community.
  • If your New Horizon property is able to accommodate customizable design finishes, you will be contacted to schedule a one-on-one design consultation.
  • During your design consultation, your dedicated Design Consultant will assist you through the process of tailoring your new home to become everything you’ve envisioned it to be! We’ll work with you to discover options that fit your lifestyle needs and your design preferences, all while working within your budget.
  • We’re here to help! Selecting your interior finishes means a lot of decision making. Your Design Consultant is happy to provide guidance on current interior trends and selections that will add value to your real estate investment.
  • Follow New Horizon on Instagram and/or Facebook for regular behind-the-scenes construction updates on all New Horizon developments.
  • Stay tuned to your inbox as you will receive monthly construction updates summarizing all the progress being made at your new community!
  • A New Horizon representative will schedule your Tarion Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) as your closing date approaches. The PDI will be the first opportunity for you to visit your new home.
  • During the PDI you will have the opportunity to identify any areas in your new home that may require attention from the New Horizon team. Stay tuned for your “What to expect at your PDI” e-mail!
  • In advance of your closing date, meet with your Bank or Mortgage Broker to submit a new mortgage pre-approval, based on the current mortgage rates.
  • On your closing or occupancy date, your lawyer will connect with New Horizon’s lawyer to transfer the home to your occupancy or ownership.
  • A member of the New Horizon team will notify you when your keys are available for pick up!
  • Tarion’s new home warranty program provides you with opportunities to submit warranty checks back to New Horizon after closing and receive assistance from the New Horizon Team with any warrantable items that may require further attention.
